Depeche Mode and Hublot
Since the first partnership in 2010, Hublot and Depeche Mode have collaborated a number of times to support causes that both care deeply about. The past partnerships in support of The Teenage Cancer Trust and charity: water raised funds and awareness for childhood cancer research and brought clean water to developing communities around the world. With this new partnership, the shared goal becomes making tangible change toward sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental clean-up.
In addition, in conjunction with Live Nation's Green Nation team, Depeche Mode and Hublot will also support programs on tour and at the venues focusing on limiting use of single-use plastics, improved recycling, food and other waste reduction, and other sustainability-related initiatives.
Supporting Conservation Collective
Together, Hublot and Depeche Mode are supporting and raising funds for Conservation Collective to tackle global plastic pollution issues.
Conservation Collective is a growing global network of local foundations funding inspiring and effective grass-roots initiatives to protect the environment, restore nature, and safeguard against climate change.
Depeche Mode and Hublot are proud to support Conservation Collective's strategy -- "locally led, globally impactful".
From production to disposal, plastics unleash widespread havoc on human, plant and animal health. In the Mediterranean alone 33,800 plastic bottles enter the sea every minute. Plastic waste enters our ecosystems and clogs land, air, and waterways.
Recent scientific findings show that 77% of tested human bloodstreams have detected microplastics.
The Approach
Conservation Collective addresses global plastic pollution through community led action to deliver long-lasting impacts and pioneer scalable solutions. Each category incorporates direct action, campaigning, research, education and policy activities:
Thanks to Depeche Mode & Hublot funding, the first round of projects in 2023 supported seven impactful initiatives across seven countries, with three more rounds of funding set to empower even more positive change. See updates from round 1 below, and watch this space for new project announcements to come.
The Projects
Plastic-Free
The world is inundated with plastic. Laws exist but are ineffectual, no one understands or enforces them. Tourist destinations add enormous pressure to existing waste facilities. Individuals and businesses want to reduce but often don’t know how to. These projects translate, facilitate and enable meaningful change.
Waste Management
As our global population grows, so does our unprecedented waste production. Waste management projects are critical for mitigating pollution, conserving resources through recycling and reusing materials, and advancing the principles of a circular economy.
Clean-ups
The presence of rubbish in the ocean is a significant concern, endangering marine ecosystems and livelihoods. However, since marine debris is a human-created problem, we have the capacity to address and resolve it. Plastic clean-up initiatives play a crucial role in tackling environmental litter, both along coastlines and beneath the water's surface.

About Conservation Collective
Conservation Collective, a global network of local foundations funding effective grass-roots conservation initiatives to protect the environment, restore nature and safeguard against climate change.
Environmental philanthropy faces two key challenges: persuading people to direct money to the biggest issue of our time and getting that money to the most effective environmental initiatives.
Conservation Collective has a proven and winning formula for both.
We build clubs of donors linked to places they care passionately about, to open new channels of funding for nature restoration. We have seen that people are instinctively “place-based”, and that when it comes to conservation and philanthropy, we are all more likely to want to protect the places we know and love.

About Hublot
Founded in Switzerland in 1980, Hublot is defined by its innovation, which began with the highly original combination of gold and rubber. This "Art of Fusion" stems from the imagination of its visionary Honorary Chairman, Jean-Claude Biver, and has been driven forward by CEO Ricardo Guadalupe since 2012.
